Babysitting, nannying and after-school care from Currumbin to Coolangatta, rooted in movement, nature, mindfulness and genuine human connection.
I'm a warm, deeply present carer based on the Gold Coast, originally from Chile and fluent in both English and Spanish. My love for working with children started back in Chile, where I fell in love with mentorship programs supporting young people in my community. Growing up watching my mum, a teacher, shaped everything about how I show up for children. That passion eventually took me to Indonesia, where I volunteered teaching English to kids, and I've never looked back. I've worked with children from babies through to 14 across a range of settings, from loving family homes to structured school programs, and I genuinely adore every moment of it.
As a certified yoga teacher who leads classes in the community, I bring breathwork, mindful movement and calm routines into everyday care. I believe children thrive when they can move their bodies, express themselves creatively and feel truly seen, not just entertained.
Beyond childcare, I'm a curious and creative soul: learning to sew, studying photography, and creating a YouTube channel on travel, philosophy, breathwork, yoga and meditation. That creative energy pours into everything I do with children, crafts, music, outdoor adventures and genuinely meaningful play.

Sophia currently cares for families across Currumbin and Coolangatta. Here's what they have to say.
Hiring Sophia was the first time I'd ever had a real break since Koa was born. I was nervous leaving him, he's only one and a half, but Sophia was so calm and kind about it. When he cried at first she gave me the confidence that everything would be okay. Now he barely cries at all when she arrives. He absolutely loves seeing her. She's been teaching him words in both Spanish and English and it's the most beautiful thing to watch. I honestly can't recommend her enough.
I worked alongside Sophia in a mentorship program in Chile and was consistently amazed by her patience with the children. She has a natural gift for keeping kids engaged, not through force or structure, but through genuine playfulness and creativity. No matter what they were doing, the kids were always with her, always interested. She's the kind of person children just gravitate toward.
What sets Sophia apart is that she actually engages with our kids, not just supervises them. She taught our 8-year-old a breathing technique for when he gets anxious at school. His teacher even noticed a difference.
Sophia has been residing with our family for nearly two weeks. Every afternoon she teaches English to the children in our village, and every evening she runs Spanish classes for our local tour guides. The students are delighted to learn from her because of her friendly and approachable nature. Her presence has not only brought knowledge but has also strengthened the bonds of brotherhood within our community. We extend our highest appreciation and deepest gratitude.
